Abstract

This research aimed to identify the knowledge of the fig growers studied about climate changes in the research area and determine the relationship between them and their independent variables studied and the percentages of their contribution in explaining the total variation in them. This research was conducted at the Mars Matrouh Center in Matrouh Governorate in the Ras al-Hikma and Jarawla communities on a simple random sample of 308 respondents. Field data was collected through personal interviews using a questionnaire form during the months of August and September 2023, and the tabular presentation with frequency, percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, average degree, simple correlation coefficient, and ascending stepwise multiple regression model was used in its analysis.
The search results showed the following:
1- 46.1% of the total fig growers surveyed fall into the low category for their knowledge of climate changes in the research area, and 43.8% fall into the medium category, while 10.1% of them fall into the high category.
2 -There is a significant correlation between the degree of knowledge of the respondents about climate changes in the research area and eleven of the independent variables studied.
3 -The percentage of contribution of relevant variables in explaining the total variation in the degree of respondents’ knowledge of climate changes in the research area amounted to 65.4%, attributed to eight variables.
