The effect of learning some basic swimming skills on acquiring some sensory-motor abilities in people with Down syndrome

Abstract

This research aims to identify the effectiveness of learning some basic swimming skills in acquiring some sensory-motor abilities for Down syndrome patients. The researcher used the experimental method with a single experimental group using pre- and post-measurements. The main sample was (10) children, in addition to (4) children from within the research community and outside the main sample to which exploratory studies are applied. The research concluded that the use of the educational program has a statistically significant effect on learning basic swimming skills for children with disabilities who have Down syndrome symptoms, and the use of the educational program has a statistically significant effect on learning some sensory-motor abilities for children with disabilities who have Down syndrome symptoms, and the ability of children with disabilities who have Down syndrome symptoms to learn various sports skills. The researcher recommends holding seminars, lectures and training courses to educate teachers and trainers on how to deal well with children with disabilities who have Down syndrome symptoms.
