Deaf people's addiction level to social networking sites.

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the level of addiction of the deaf to social networking sites and prepare a scale for the use of social networking sites by the deaf and identify the motives for the use of social networking sites by the deaf. The research sample consisted of (79) male and female deaf students. The researcher used a form to collect primary data and a scale to determine the level of addiction of the deaf to social networking sites (prepared by the researcher). The application was carried out in Qalyubia Governorate manually using the form and scale, while the application was carried out in Minya electronically on Google Drive with the help of one of the managers. The results showed: -
• The most used social networking sites by the deaf are, in order (Facebook - WhatsApp - Messenger - YouTube - Snapchat).
• Daily use (3-5) hours came in first place with a percentage of 40.50.
• The goals of the deaf from their use of social networking sites came in different percentages, as the most frequently repeated goal was "communicating with friends", and the least frequently repeated goal was "following lessons and lectures"
• The level of addiction in terms of dominance over the personality of the deaf was average.
• The level of addiction in terms of being constantly busy with social media sites was average.

• The level of addiction in terms of causing mood changes was average.
