Abstract

The Arab region enjoys advantages that qualify it to participate in global value chains, especially its proximity to global production centers in Europe and Asia and its geostrategic location at the intersection of global trade routes, in addition to the diversity of its capabilities, natural wealth, raw materials, human power, large market, and other advantages that drive it to improve its participation and establish a strong foothold within it. Global value added chains
However, the reality shows that Arab participation is still far from what is hoped for, especially in light of known restrictions such as weak infrastructure and technology, reliability of transportation means, regional competition, or the presence of hotbeds of tension such as the Syrian conflict, affecting trade and logistics between countries (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and the Gulf Cooperation Council)
The Israeli war on Gaza and its repercussions on global trade in the Red Sea region. In addition to the structural imbalances in the internal structure of the societies of the countries riparian to the Red Sea region, especially (Somalia - Yemen - Sudan - Djibouti - Eritrea - Ethiopia - Occupied Palestine).
From this standpoint, we seek in this research to discuss Arab participation in global value chains and the conduct of international and regional trade. We examine the economic impacts resulting from Arab participation in global value chains and the conduct of international and regional trade
